SKEtCHBOOKS

WORKING IN A SKETCHBOOK IS MY HAPPY PLACE…

Going out for a walk with a sketchbook is freedom - it doesn’t demand a lot of equipment or to stop for very long. It is where brief moments of observation can be noted down, the merest glimpse of something that catches the eye then disappears from view. It isn’t for others to see (even though I’m sharing a few pages here), it is a personal exploration of the world around me, a visual diary, a place to experiment, a place to just let things happen. And for those reasons it is always the sketchbooks and drawings of other artists that I myself am fascinated by as an insight into their world.
